Morgan Lane Residence, Redondo Beach
Full Service: Concept through Completion
This homeowner had rented out his home for many years. Recently moving back into it, he decided to give it a much needed upgrade to make this Craftsman Style home feel more cohesive and ready for the modern real estate market. BC Studio took the charge to redesign all three bathrooms in the home bringing them up to modern standards without forgetting their Craftsman roots.
The Master Bathroom would need to be the star of the show, with dark, large scale grey tiles wrapping from the floor up the shower walls all the way toward the beautiful skylight. We gutted the outdated tub to make way for a fully immersive shower with a built in bench and linear drain. The cabinets are custom-made solid white oak with a light smoke finish and Caesarstone raw concrete tops. Satin Nickel fixtures finish out the space with a light touch of metal that plays with other details found throughout the house. The Powder Room, being just off the main living space, was a place to add a darker accent wall and a beautiful rustic feel with a Restoration Hardware vanity. Last, but not least, the Guest Bathroom downstairs needed to ensure a possibility of bathing, so we made sure to fully ensconce the surround with a bright white honeycomb ceramic tile. The mirrors are a slightly smaller in scale and the light fixtures are played down just a tad from those found in the more luxurious Master Bath upstairs. The concept of bringing this house up to date was accomplished through the major cohesive update of these three bathrooms.
