THE OUTWIN: AMERICAN PORTRAITURE TODAY, KEMPER MUSEUM OF ART

St. Louis, Missouri

Installation view of The Outwin: American Portraiture Today, at the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum, Washington University in St. Louis (September 10, 2021 – January 23, 2022)

This show consisted of 2 galleries at the Kemper and as there was no real connection between the pieces - other than being portraits - the idea was to really showcase each piece individually. The scheme that was developed used the approach of a lot of white space, while still having some vignettes to see multiple pieces together at varying angles. This was designed during the Covid lockdown era and was unfortunately on display during Fall 2021 when things locked down again, so it wasn't ever seen in person by many. Luckily the photos of the exhibition live on.
